Services Offered by the Telecom Broker Network

Internet T1 Service:
An Internet T1 (also spelled Internet T-1) is a high-speed digitally transmitted connection to the Internet that transfers signals at 1.544 Mbps (1,544,000 bits per second) that can be divided into twenty-four 64 Kbps telephone lines or trunks.

DIRECTV:
The absolute best in HD Satellite TV home entertainment. With over 250 channels of sports, movies, news, weather, local, and national programs over 100% digital signaling, DIRECTV, sometimes spelled incorrectly as DIRECT TV or DIRECTTV, is the industry leader in the United States serving over 16 million customers with award-winning content, customer service and technical support.

You can install DIRECTV if you live in a multi-tenant buildings such as condos, apartments, and etc. The first qualifying consideration is to make sure that you have a clear line of sight to the Southern sky. In a multi-tenant building, if you are located on the lower floors, you may run into a problem where an object or a building might be block the line of sight to the DIRECTV satellite in the Southern sky. In most cases, you would want to consult with your landlord or property manager about installing a DIRECTV satellite dish on the roof or other suitable location on the building.

If your property manager or landlord does not allow placing a satellite dish on the roof, you may request to install the DIRECTV dish on your balcony, patio, or other suitable location. Sometimes the installation of your DIRECTV system (dish and/or converter units) may require structural changes that might be restricted or limited by the lease. In these cases, to avoid delays and possible problems in installation of your DIRECTV system, we recommend that you obtain a written or verbal permission from your property management and/or the landlord. You can also review your lease agreement to confirm permission before scheduling installation with DIRECTV and you can use the DIRECTV Installation Permission Form to document the permission. Unreasonable restrictions enforced by the property managers or landlords against installing satellite dishes that are a meter or less in size are prohibited by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Voice over IP (VoIP):
VoIP over Internet Protocol (IP), or VoIP, is a managed voice and Internet solution for businesses that falls into the industry niche referred to as IP Centrex (a feature-rich hosted analog voice solution), or Hosted Private Branch Exchange (PBX) that provides many features and capabilities that transform business communications beyond what traditional voice and data networks can offer. With Managed VoIP service, you get advanced features including the ability to manage calls through a Web portal with features such as findMe/follow me, remote user, voice mail sent to email, and selective forwarding.

ADT Home Security Alarm Systems:
ADT is the leader in affordable high-tech alarm systems in the United States based on state-of-the-art technology and equipment that provide Interactive Monitoring with World Wide Web access, mobile phone access, email alerts and other notifications of intrusions upon the safety of your family.

Any monitored intrusion into your home will be quickly reported by one of the 5 United States ADT Security Services Customer Monitoring Centers that continuously protect your family and home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It's important to understand that most security companies only have one monitoring center, and in some cases, that one center is not based in the United States or even managed by an actual security company.

With ADT, you get security from five interconnected command centers that are strategically located throughout the United States. Each command center is backed by powerful equipment and trained professionals, so if one connection is interrupted, one of the other centers can handle the monitoring for your home.

This means ADT is prepared for various emergencies. Other companies may not be equipped to provide this level of protection. A company offering only one monitoring center may not be able to protect your home and family in the event their one center goes down.

Don't risk your home and family's safety, choose ADT (America's #1 security company) for monitored security protection. With ADT, your home is monitored 24 hours a day. In the event of an emergency, your ADT system can transmit a signal to one of ADT's five monitoring centers. The receiving monitoring center then will attempt to contact the homeowner via phone after the signal is received. If the person who answers the phone cannot supply the personal identification code, or if no one answers the phone, the representative then can notify local authorities. Local authorities may be dispatched to the home to determine the cause of the disturbance and to respond to emergency situations.

MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching):
MPLS is a standardized data switching technology that optimizes network traffic flow and eases management of data networks. MPLS carves specific paths data packets that are identified by a label that saves the time needed for a router to look up the address to the next node in order to forward the packet. MPLS works with the Internet Protocol (IP), Asynchronous Transport Mode (ATM), and frame relay network protocols. MPLS allows most packets to be forwarded at the layer 2 (switching) level rather than at the layer 3 (routing) level and makes it easy to manage quality of service (QoS).

Ethernet Internet:
Ethernet is the most widely-used data network protocol today. Standardized as IEEE 802.3, the Ethernet protocol is used for local area networks (LANs) at the Layer 1 (Physical Layer) and Layer 2 (Data Link Layer) of the OSI networking model. Ethernet can be used to connect twisted copper pair networks and to connect fiber optic cable networks. It also provides a great local access medum to connect LANs to the Internet. Ethernet access to the Internet is quickly becoming the access method of choice were it is available.

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Service:
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) is a voice and data access service that supports both voice and data communication across a copper plain old telephone serivce (POTS) line and significantly increases the digital capacity of analog POTS access lines.

POTS local loop speed is increased by up to 50 times when a DSL modem is attached at the customer premise and a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) is connected to the local access loop at the local telephone company central office (CO).

DSL service is delverd as Asymmetric DSL (ADSL) which is the most common application for Internet access, where fast downstream is required, but slow upstream is acceptable, and as Symmetric DSL (SDSL) which supports high speed access across the local access loop in both directions.

Wireless Internet Service:
Satellite Wireless Internet is a new way to access the Internet at high speeds from anywhere in the United States. Satellite Wireless Internet is delivered via satellites that orbit the Earth while transmitting and receiving high frequency radio internet data to a small dish located at the customer premise. This two-way satellite radio system is reliable, easy to set up and is mobile. You can move the subscriber satellite dish and re-connect with ease.

HughesNet offers high-speed Satellite Wireless Internet service satellite internet (sometimes incorrectly spelled satelite internet) to subscribers who are in remote locations or unique locations where DSL or other types of Internet access is unavailable. All you need to connect to HughesNet is an unobstructed view of the southern sky. Please click on the banner below for more information.

 The Secrets of Fractional T1

Written by: Patrick Oborn - Jan 9, 2009

If a full T1 isn't in your budget, you need to consider a fractional t1 line. Why not get all the advantages of T1 even if you are not in a market for a full T1? For many people the biggest factors in their decision is reliability and if reliability is critical to the applications you run over your connection you should seriously consider replacing your DSL connection with a fractional T1. DSL is a quick and cost effective method of acquiring high speed bandwidth however it is not intended to support commercial applications or large numbers of users as are T1 connections.

One drawback to fractional T1 service is the price. Even though you won't have a full T1 you will be paying quite a bit more than you did for your DSL connection. This is due to the structure of T1 pricing. A T1 connection is established by providing a "loop" or wire from the user’s premises to the CO where the service provider has equipment. Part of the cost of a T1 is the "loop charge" or the monthly rental fee for the wire that is rented from the local phone company. Once the connection reaches the CO it can access the carriers network and reach any destination. This loop is paid in full whether you use a fraction of the available bandwidth or the full 1.5Mbps and therefore your price for a 768Kbps fractional T1 connection will never be half the price of a 1.5mbps full T1 connection.

Although the price reduction is not what you might expect it to be, this may put a T1 in your budget and be a great way to get dedicated service into your building. Once you have fractional service upgrading to full service is easy. Fractional service typically comes in 256Kbps increments from 256Kbps all the way to a full T1 at 1.5Mbps. Find the service that's right for you, but if you are supporting critical services think reliability. Reliability becomes critical when customers or employees depend on your connection for immediate responses. If your customers use your connection to access your databases or your server or the internet then reliability of your connection is critical. If your employees depend on your connections because you host the e-mail server in house or host web servers or ASP type products, your connections is considered critical. A critical connection can be viewed much like a lifeline, without which your business would be negatively impacted.
